Drives
Lift drives work the machines, controlling such things as speed and stopping rates along with managing power supply. Regenerative drives are becoming popular by acquiring energy from the lift movements and so being more energy efficient.
Below are a few examples of the most common lift drives we are installing at present. There are many other drive type out there and S1 Lifts has years of experience working with and maintaining all types.

Regenerative Drives - The Future of Energy Efficiency
These drives store and clean up energy created from movement then puts it back into the mains. Saving on operational costs.
Couple this with a Gearless Traction or Hydraulic machine means even more efficiency, smoother and quieter rides and potentially reduced maintenance costs due to not using gears.

VV/VF = Variable Voltage Variable Frequency
This is a system for controlling the rotational speed of an alternating current (AC) electric motor by controlling the frequency of the electrical power supplied to the motor.
The benefits of this include a smoother and more efficient operation. The overall action is controlled and accurate.
Open Loop and Closed Loop Drives
Open Loop
Accurate stopping drive, slows down and stops. On lift speeds of 1 meter per second.
Closed Loop
Accurate stopping drive for High Speed Lifts. A Closed Loop drive contains an encoder which communicates with the drive for accurate stopping.
