Types of Lift

There are a range of lift types all differing in practical application, ride quality and energy efficiency. The development of electronic driving lift motors (VVVF) providing smoother rides & efficiency, and the increased market demand for MRL (Machine Room Less) lifts means S1 Lifts leads the way when installing cutting edge lift technology.

See below examples for the application and benefits of common types of lift.

MRLMRL (Motor Room Less) = More Rentable Space

Motor Room-Less lifts are increasingly popular in residential and office buildings.
These come in two types; Traction and Hydraulic.
A traction lift is roped and is more energy efficient.

Both types of MRL Lifts can be geared or gear less. Gearless machines are increasingly popular due to their reliability and require less maintenance.

The elimination of a dedicated motor room (as required by traditional overhead traction lifts) means a MRL lift provides superior ride quality, high quality decorative finishes, and creates more usable, salable / rentable space with reduced construction costs.

Gearless Lifts future of energy efficiencyGEARLESS LIFTS - The Future of Energy Efficiency

Hoisting machines made DC gearless and energy-hungry geared hoisting machines a thing of the past. Together with an energy saving controlled drive system and regenerative options combines to provide the highest total efficiency and minimizes both mechanical and electrical losses.

Small Goods LiftSMALL GOODS LIFTS

Small Goods Lifts facilitate the convenient transport of a wide variety of items. Designed as a modular system, they have universal applications. The minimal space they require makes installation simple in both old and new buildings. A wide range of standard models is supplemented with special versions, where required, to meet demands.

Service lifts DumbwaitersSERVICE LIFTS / DUMBWAITERS

Wherever food needs to be transported between floors, service lifts commonly known as Dumbwaiters offer the answer. Satisfying hygiene demands, Stainless steal shelves and floors are supplied as standard. Other surfaces and finishes are available as options.

Other options include hands fee doors, lift models with weight capacities from 5kg up to 100kg or more. Two tier combination lifts are used for carrying different types of goods in one lift. Under-bar hoist lifts are often used in bars and restaurants for floor loading at its top floor and and often into the cellar at the bottom.

Platform LiftPLATFORM LIFTS - Disabled wheelchair access (DDA Compliant)

Platform lifts are designed and used for disabled access complying with DDA guidelines which involves accessible and easy to use controls, wheelchair access and smooth operation, safe and reliable.

At S1 Lifts we install platform lifts that have been developed with a focus on design and engineering. Meaning a high standard of design aesthetic and very little maintenance. As the lifts are electronically powered there is no need for a motor room or lift pit, therefore no extensive builders work. In the event of a power cut the lifting platform can be lowered using the easily accessible emergency crank handle.
